About dbPix

The Quiet/Silent setup is designed to give developers an easy and reliable way to install DBPix on end-users' computers. It includes the same dependencies and logic as the 'developers' setup, ensuring that the resulting environment is identical to your development installation, but it is stripped of all unnecessary support files (such as samples and documentation) to minimize file size. It installs to a default location (the System folder) so that little or no user-interaction is required.

The setup can be run in 2 modes:

'Quiet' mode:

In this mode the setup displays progress and a completion dialog, and just 1 click is required (to dismiss the completion dialog). To run the setup in Quiet mode start the executable with no command-line parameters.

'Silent' mode:

In this mode the setup runs with no visible user-interface at all. To run the setup in Silent mode start the executable with the command-line parameters '-s -a -s'.

To install DBPix you can run the Quiet/Silent setup directly, or include the executable in your application's own installer and launch/spawn it from there. You can also include it in an mdb file which can extract it and run it when required. See the Auto-Install sample for an illustration.
