Under some circumstances on older systems the Installshield setup program may fail to update the mfc42.dll file on the target computer. This causes the installation to fail since the DBPix control cannot be registered if this file does not meet the minimum requirements.
You may be able to work around this problem by closing all running applications then locating the mfc42.dll file in the system folder (e.g. c:\windows\system or c:\winnt\system32), renaming it (e.g. to mfc42.dll.old) then re-running the installation.
Note that some system-tray applications may lock this file preventing it from being renamed, and it may also be locked if 'Active Desktop' is enabled.
We are researching this problem and will post more information on this site as it becomes available.
